This year was almost better than the last (which was awesome). It's really inspiring to see so many artists create toys, 3D models, posters, merch and so much eye candy--it was overwhelming at one point. And the best part was that all these creators were very pleased with the turnout and the enthusiasm of the attendees. There was such a cool vibe throughout the venue, we were able to make conversations with the creators behind the booth. No hard sells or awkward conversations, just a lot of respect and appreciation for pop culture and indie art as well. I only wished I had the shelf space to collect them all.

Designer Con 2015
The three of us (Jared, Giulie & Rob) headed over to the Pasadena Convention Center for Designer Con.

Action Lab is publishing Cash and Carrie!
The cat's outta the bag!
Cash & Carrie will be published next year through Action Lab Entertainment. The announcement was made at New York Comic Con where co-creator Shawn Pryor discussed the future of C&C at a panel. We can't wait to see what comes next!

Long Beach Comic Con 2015
Hey folks!
Rob and I are still cranking out pages upon pages of comic book material (all debuting next year). Until then, we'll be stopping by local cons like we did for LBCC. It was a fun weekend and we'll definitely be checking out Comikaze at the end of this month.
Stay tuned for more updates!

We're going to SDCC!
San Diego Comic Con 2015, here we come!
We'll be walking around Saturday and Sunday, trying to meet with as many people as possible. We know a few friends from social media that we're really excited to see. We'll be stopping by various publishers & indie creators and as expected, the exhibit hall will be difficult to get around so hopefully we don't miss anybody. It'll be a crazy weekend but we'll be prepared.
Here's my list of what to bring...a survival kit if you will:

Here's my list of what to bring...a survival kit if you will:
- Hand Sanitizer - to prevent Con Crud
- Breath Mints - to prevent the offensive stench from whatever you ate last
- Cough Drops - so you don't lose your voice by Sunday
- Extra phone battery - cause your phone will die on you
- Snacks and water - like turkey jerky, those almond butter snacks & trail mix
- Business cards - for a little networking
- Sharpies - for a little book signing
- Cash - obv.
- Wear comfy shoes
- Wear glasses (this is strictly a "me" thing as I don't always wear my glasses and I'm squinting the whole time)

Cash & Carrie News
Just a quick update. Cash & Carrie only has 5 days left but we've surpassed our fundraising goal. Woohoo! Quite a few websites had contacted us to help promote the Kickstarter and we couldn't be happier. It's been pretty amazing and we're humbled by all the positive responses.

Free Comic Book Day 2015
This past Saturday was FCBD and it was a hot one, but at least we scored some comics (free and not free). We saw a few friends, scoped out a few new titles and later went home to read our stash which included Fight Club 2, Motorcycle Samurai and Hip Hop Family Tree.
Our first stop was House of Secrets in Burbank.
Second stop was Blastoff's Comic Fest in NoHo.
Third and final stop was Earth 2 in Sherman Oaks.

It's Kickstarter time for... Cash & Carrie!
Cash & Carrie is a series that I've been working on since last year. It's about two junior high school friends, Dallas Cash and Inez Carrie, who solve mysteries in their small town. In the first issue, they investigate the strange disappearance of a school mascot, Misty the Goat. With the help of a few clues and a few friends, they narrow down their search to three possible suspects: the school principal, a rival football team and a fraternity brother. Or did Misty magically vanish into thin air?
The mover, the shaker, the editor Shawn Pryor got in contact with me and kickass artist Penny to do this all ages comic. All three of us collaborated on it and we could not be more proud.
The Kickstarter is currently under way until June 10th. There are reward tiers for variant covers, two Ginger Rabbit Studio digital comics: Golden Age and Clown Fight and later, a pdf copy of my script (scary I know 0_0). The best thing about this is that the story/art/design is almost completed, the only wait is for the printers.
This is an exciting time so get on it!

WonderCon 2015 - Sunday Edition
Even though we're not tabling this year, we did have time to pop in, chat with friends and pick up some books at this year's WonderCon. It was quite busy for an Easter Sunday, much more so than last year. We did check out Action Lab's panel, where they talked about their current projects and what to look forward to in the future. Afterwards, we had limited time on the exhibition floor but managed to pick up some new indie titles that we can't wait to read.
Next year, we'll be tabling at WonderCon's new location... Downtown Los Angeles. *crosses fingers*

New mini-comic posted on my Tumblr!
It's a short story called, Daughter. It's about a high school girl in Calais, Maine who gets killed in cold blood. Her reputation was far from squeaky clean but she was still a person who deserved much more.
Morgan Beem did the excellent art and Shin-Wey Lu did the lettering.
Check it out here!

What's new this year?
If any of you lads are wondering if we're tabling at any shows this year, the answer is...no.
We're taking a break from setting up at conventions because a) it's exhausting b) it's expensive and c) we're taking the time to build new material. While we are writing, pitching and developing new stories we will be posting the occasional update or random tidbit from our exciting (read: dull) lives.
In the meantime, check back (or follow our Facebook page) for any recent news.
