"State of Mind" is about two angels who can never be together (kinda like Wings Of Desire). Simona Binni illustrated it and Marcello Iozzoli did the gray tones.
Years ago, I had a Myspace (didn't we all?) And I put together collages of things that interested me like photography and movies. I pasted together these images of subways...and the black & white photo of an angel talking to a man in a trench coat caught my eye. It appears they are standing at a stairway to heaven, talking about their complicated relationship. At least that's what it looks like to me.
So that small inspiration stayed with me for a long time (approx seven years).
When I finally got a chance to write it, I sent Simona other photo references to get the setting just right. The final result was right on the money.
