Los Angeles Comic Con - Oct 26-28th

Hey guys, it's Giulie here.

Guess what's coming up? LA Comic-Con this weekend! It's been a long time since we did a show but we have some new stuff to offer.

We will be debuting our latest micro-anthology, RED: A Golden Age Mixtape. Four modern short stories using Golden age characters: Red Rube, Red Bee, Red Mask and Red Torpedo. Contributors include Jared Sams, Kenny Keil, Rob Harrington and me with Leonie O'Moore. Nathaniel Osollo did the awesome cover, sneak preview of the logo below.

Also, FANBASE PRESS did a shout out for all indie creators that will be in attendance (including us).

Rob and I will be tabling in Artist Alley at C13. Come by and check us out!

We're going to SDCC!

San Diego Comic Con 2015, here we come!

We'll be walking around Saturday and Sunday, trying to meet with as many people as possible. We know a few friends from social media that we're really excited to see. We'll be stopping by various publishers & indie creators and as expected, the exhibit hall will be difficult to get around so hopefully we don't miss anybody. It'll be a crazy weekend but we'll be prepared.

Here's my list of what to bring...a survival kit if you will:
  • Hand Sanitizer - to prevent Con Crud
  • Breath Mints - to prevent the offensive stench from whatever you ate last
  • Cough Drops - so you don't lose your voice by Sunday
  • Extra phone battery - cause your phone will die on you
  • Snacks and water - like turkey jerky, those almond butter snacks & trail mix
  • Business cards - for a little networking
  • Sharpies - for a little book signing
  • Cash - obv.
  • Wear comfy shoes
  • Wear glasses (this is strictly a "me" thing as I don't always wear my glasses and I'm squinting the whole time)
Oh and have fun :)

Phoenix Comic Con Wrap Up

After a four day show, we are pooped!

I'm so tired I can barely string words to make a sentence, so here's a list of what went down at PHXCC'13.

Thursday
  • Woke up at 7am to hit the road
  • Traveled six hours to Phoenix
  • Dropped off stuff at hotel, picked up our badges, and set up
  • Preview day started at 4pm, ended at 9pm
  • Wil Wheaton came by our table, complimented Jared's art prints.
  • We grabbed grub with the Devastator team and Yehudi Mercado
  • We walked back to our hotel and passed out
Friday
  • Grabbed breakfast in 100 degree heat and headed inside for our Exhibitor table
  • Cosplayers galore, lots of families, Dr. Who fans, and steam punkers
  • Lots of people looking at our stuff
  • Ate dinner with friends at a nearby Greek place, opa!
Saturday
  • Rainbowbeard and Mad Muslim Mulatto were the top sellers.
  • Everything else - wash, rinse and repeat.
Sunday
  • In the home stretch, with two hours to go, the fire alarm goes off
  • We evacuate, then the exhibitors are allowed back in, but the attendees head home early
  • We wrap up and head to dinner with the Yuan Twins and Libya El-Amin from TV Campfire.
Monday
  • Trek back to smoggy Los Angeles.

Long Beach Comic Con 2012: It's a Wrap!

Long Beach Horror & Comic Con has ended and so has our convention season :'(  In our first year of exhibiting we managed to table at six shows. While that might not seem like a lot, it sure does feel it! Going all the way back to February when we tabled at our first show, LA Zine Fest, we were nervous. We had no idea what we were doing and didn't know any of the other creators. And now, ten months later, we couldn't be more excited to go to shows, see familiar friendly faces and show off our comics. A huge thanks to all the great people we've met this year, you've made this an experience that we won't soon forget. We look forward to more good times next year!
